How to Make Champagne Jello Shots

Even a socially distant New Years Eve (wedding shower, bachelorette party, you name it!) calls for making and partaking in champagne jello shots! I found a way to still be festive and celebrate with the +21 group as well as an option for the little kiddos!

We all know celebrating New Years Eve with champagne is a must, but why not add a twist with these festive bite sized treats at your next party? They will be such a memorable conversation starter. With only a few ingredients you can make these at home with the kids and switch up the flavors to your specific taste. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

(+21 Version)

  • 1 cup of champagne or sparkling wine (chilled)
  • 3/4 of ginger ale
  • 3 packets of unflavored gelatin
  • garnish with sprinkles

(Non-Alcoholic Version)

  • 2 1/2 cups of sparkling juice (chilled)
  • 1/2 cup of boiling water
  • 2 packets of unflavored gelatin
  • garnish with sprinkles

Preparation

  1. In medium pan, set heat to medium low heat and boil water
    • If you are preparing the +21 version, combine ginger ale and 1/4 cup of the champagne and boil
  2. Add gelatin slowly in and allow to dissolve in liquid for at least a minute; completely remove all clumps
  3. Pour sparkling juice in a bowl or measuring cup with spout, then pour gelatin mixture into sparkling juice and gently stir and combine
    • If you are preparing the +21 version, remove the ginger ale and 1/4 champagne from heat and stir in the remaining champagne
  4. To avoid sticking, lightly spray pan with cooking spray and pour mixture in (you can also use champagne glasses or any other containers you wish to serve)
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set/firm enough to eat
  6. Use fun shapes/cookie cutters or just cut into squares garnishing sprinkles on top and serve

NOTE: If you would like it on the sweeter side, add a tablespoon of sugar when boiling liquids.

These champagne jello shots are a playful alternative to the normal glasses of champagne ringing in the New Year. It may require a step further in preparation, but worth seeing the end product.

May 2022 be filled with everything 2021 wasn’t. CHEERS! *CLINK*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
