I always get asked what products I use in my skincare routine. Honestly, I do not have a super mojo or concoction I use. I haven’t purchase the most expensive product in the market. In fact, it is a product dermatologists have recommended for years.
Vitamin C is an effective and important product to include in your daily skincare routine to help with appearance of your complexion when used on a daily basis. No matter what your skin type may be – oily, normal, or dry, Vitamin C has many benefits that you will want to get into!
Here are a few:
- Production of collagen in the skin
- Fading dark spots and brightening
- Promotes even skin tone and glow
- Helps in redness and inflammation
When I started my research on Vitamin C, I asked the question you may be thinking. “How can it do all of these things?!” Based on what I read, our skin can go into a state of “stress” which is caused by many “outside factors” like air pollution, emissions from vehicles, smoke, dirt, etc. When these things weaken the skin, it speeds up the process of aging and hyperpigmentation. We do not want that! We are trying to PRESERVE PRESERVE PRESERVE!
My process to find the right Vitamin C serum was a lot of trial and error. But I rounded up a couple of things to look out for when purchasing.
- Make sure you are cognizant of the expiration date as the shelf life is usually 6 months to a year after its been cracked opened.
- Keep visual queues on what the product looked like when you first began using it. Vitamin C can change color, texture and smell once it gets oxidized.
Let’s Go!
Now, on to the good part. Ive rounded up a few Vitamin C serums that are worthy to look further into. Remember to do your research and check in with your dermatologist!
