Vitamin C Me, Please!

I always get asked what products I use in my skincare routine.  Honestly, I do not have a super mojo or concoction I use.  I haven’t purchase the most expensive product in the market.  In fact, it is a product dermatologists have recommended for years.

Vitamin C is an effective and important product to include in your daily skincare routine to help with appearance of your complexion when used on a daily basis.  No matter what your skin type may be – oily, normal, or dry, Vitamin C has many benefits that you will want to get into!

Here are a few:

  • Production of collagen in the skin
  • Fading dark spots and brightening
  • Promotes even skin tone and glow
  • Helps in redness and inflammation

When I started my research on Vitamin C, I asked the question you may be thinking.  “How can it do all of these things?!”  Based on what I read, our skin can go into a state of “stress” which is caused by many “outside factors” like air pollution, emissions from vehicles, smoke, dirt, etc. When these things weaken the skin, it speeds up the process of aging and hyperpigmentation.  We do not want that!  We are trying to PRESERVE PRESERVE PRESERVE!

My process to find the right Vitamin C serum was a lot of trial and error.  But I rounded up a couple of things to look out for when purchasing.

  1. Make sure you are cognizant of the expiration date as the shelf life is usually 6 months to a year after its been cracked opened.
  2. Keep visual queues on what the product looked like when you first began using it.  Vitamin C can change color, texture and smell once it gets oxidized.

Let’s Go!

Now, on to the good part.  Ive rounded up a few Vitamin C serums that are worthy to look further into. Remember to do your research and check in with your dermatologist!

MaeLove - The Glow Maker Vitamin C Serum

Mae Love Glow Maker Serum

If you caught my IG post a few months back, you will know I LOVE this product!  Ive been using it for a few months now and can definitely see a difference in my skin.  This product keeps my skin hydrated and bright all day long and the bottle is a good size that will last you for a while.

INKEY List 15% Vitamin C and EGF Brightening Serum

The INKEY List Vitamin C and EGF Brightening Serum –

This is a plant-derived EGF that delivers a potent dose of actives to help brighten dull-stressed out skin.  If your skincare concerns are dark spots, dullness and, uneven texture – this product is right up your alley.  Its also a great price point at around $15!

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension

Formulated without paragons, sulfates, and phthalates this product contains 23% concentration of pure vitamin C!!  Vegan and cruelty-free this is definitely and option for those that are looking for a “cleaner” product.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

For those that may have dry skin this product would be best suitable.  Paired with squalene (a natural moisturizer) it will leave your skin extra glowy and firm.

Lastly, after cleaning, toning, and hydrating, add in a vitamin C serum right before you lather on your favorite (tinted) moisturizer (with SPF) – your skin will thank you later.

Ma’am…I was just floating in the pool 48 hours ago Ma’am…I was just floating in the pool 48 hours ago. Now you want me to meal plan?!

There’s something about getting back into the daily grind that reminds me how much we moms carry.

The routines, the responsibilities, the work, the family. And somehow still trying to find a little time for ourselves in the middle of it all.

Vacation was nice. But getting back to real life? We got this💪🏾

Being a mom and a wife doesn’t always fit neatly into the picture people have in their heads of what ambition is supposed to look like.

Maybe the path you want doesn’t look traditional.
Maybe it doesn’t make sense to everyone.
Maybe you’re building it in the 20-minute pockets between everything else.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need enough audacity to take the first step and enough stubbornness to keep taking the next one. 😂

Work-life balance?😂 Whoever named it “balance” c Work-life balance?😂

Whoever named it “balance” clearly wasn’t trying to answer a work email while remembering it’s spirit week, clothes need to be folded, and somebody has soccer practice in 20 minutes.

TBH, juggling it all is hard. And some days, one ball *will* hit the floor. That’s okay. Work-life balance isn’t about splitting your time 50/50, it’s about figuring out what works for *your* life in *this* season.

✨ Two things:
• **Time-block one thing just for YOU.** Even if it’s only 20 minutes. Put it on your calendar like it’s a meeting because everyone gets your time... you deserve some too.
• **Stop chasing perfection.** Every task doesn’t deserve an A+. Sometimes a solid B+ gets the job done, and honestly... nobody is handing out trophies for folding fitted sheets perfectly. 😅

Give yourself permission to adjust, pivot, and redefine “balance” as life changes. You’re not failing. You’re human.

What’s one thing you’ve started doing that has made juggling work and life a little easier?
If your eyebrows ever looked like distant cousins If your eyebrows ever looked like distant cousins instead of sisters…pull up a chair. 😂

Listen, I don’t wake up with “I just left the brow salon” eyebrows either. These babies require a little teamwork. Today, I’m showing you a beginner friendly tutorial on exactly how I fill them in so they look natural, lifted, and don’t disappear halfway through the day.

Now tell me, what’s your biggest eyebrow struggle? Matching them? Sparse spots? Finding the right product?

Let’s talk in the comments!
